As part of its development strategy, Groupe Heppner, a large transport and logistics company (3,800 employees, nearly 100 sites and 507 mn euro turnover) is recruiting a transport purchasing manager for its national groupage service. Accountable to the Network Department (ND), you will work in relation with our agency and regional directors (RD) and you will assure the purchase and organization of regular haulage routes in order to rationalize our transport itinerary. You will conduct studies allowing for fine-tuned management of transport purchasing for the network. You will oversee the deployment and follow-through of plans of action defined by the Department.
In particular, your job responsibilities will be:
- Prospecting the transporter market, negotiating and purchasing regular haulage services.
- - Coordinating and checking the correct implementation of transport operations over the entire national transport network with respect to commitments (delivery time, quality…)
- - Evolving and optimizing the structure of the transport network in order that it contributes to the development of the groupage activity, working closely with the ND/RD.
- Analyzing and checking that supply (means employed) adequately meets with demand (needs of the agencies and regions) at the qualitative and economic level. Carrying our corrective measures with transporters if need be.

Attractive salary, to be negotiation according to candidate profile
The ideal candidate has a degree in higher education with specialization in transport and at least 5 years of practical experience in transport and/or in setting up transport routes, preferably within a transport purchasing Department/Chartering service. Autonomous, rigorous and organized, you have excellent interpersonal skills and perfect working knowledge of IT tools, particularly Excel. AS 400 is a plus.
