05-19-2008 Heppner enriches its executive team by appointing Philippe Cardot as Director of Ground Transport

Heppner is pleased to announce the appointment of Philippe Cardot as Director of Ground Transport, a strategic position within the company, effective 1st February 2008.

« This key nomination to Heppner’s management team transpires at a time when we are actively pursuing our development strategy leading up to 2010 and tackling the numerous challenges we must take up, notably within our groupage activities. The proven track record of Philippe Cardot in organizing and piloting national and international ground transport, along with his knowledge of the markets and managerial experience, constitute a decisive advantage at a point when Heppner is taking a new step in its development,” said Gilles Moutel, Managing Director of Heppner.

The mission Philippe Cardot has been confided – within the scope of his responsibility for deciding and implementing changes -- on the one hand consists of optimizing the activities of the company’s groupage network and on the other, coordinating more globally all the ground transport activities.

To accomplish this mission, Heppner is thus capitalizing on the double competency of Philippe Cardot, that being technical and organizational management experience, rounded off by a solid career in directing and motivating the sales network.

This duty has a direct bearing on Heppner’s development strategy, built around 4 major axes among which figures the optimization of the Groupage activity and Quality.

« I accepted this exciting challenge that Heppner offered me because all the elements are in place to reach the objectives and optimize the operating profit of the company. This involves building and instigating a veritable network enterprise to help achieve the objective of 4% profitability that the Heppner group has fixed between now and 2010. Moreover, I have the utmost respect for the management team and I am joining a family company whose values and ethics governing its approach to managing personnel correspond to my vision of how a company should be run. The fundamentals of the company are solid and Heppner has the know-how, staying power and recognized expertise in its line of business, » added Philippe Cardot.

Some 25 years of experience in the world of public and private groupage transport, during which Philippe Cardot exercised key supervising, managerial and auditing functions, naturally led him to join Heppner.

Philippe Cardot started his career in 1981 at Groupe la Poste where he held various executive positions in strategy and marketing, and notably became the Director of Development up until 2001. Between 2001 and 2007, he then joined the TAT Express group as Director of Operations, then served as Managing Director and was appointed corporate officer during the receivership of the company.

Philippe Cardot graduated from the University of Paris 1 Sorbonne with a master’s (DESS) degree in management.
