10-26-2007 Groupe Heppner transfers its activities from to its Avignon site
In September the Nîmes site of Heppner, relocated to the Avignon one. This rapprochement reflects the Groupe's ongoing development strategy in South, and means Heppner can more readily deal with the growing volume of business at the Nîmes agency.
The 10 employees from Nîmes joined their colleagues at Avignon. In all, the new staff is now some 42 people strong. A Groupage Agency by vocation that also includes a Chartering department, each day the 2,500 square meter Avignon site handles an average:
• 500 shipments (47 tons) of client consignments
• 500 shipments (42 tons) for distribution – delivery to the Gard and Vaucluse departments
• 30 tons in transit «The convergence of these two sites has been operative for more than a month now. Our capacity to handle workflow is much greater and we have increased our reactivity to client requests, in the Vaucluse as well as the Gard. This consolidation is part of a process that will eventually enable us to strengthen our capacities in Avignon by enlarging our premises, » points out Hélène Rogier, Director of the Avignon site. Indicative of Groupe Heppner’s efforts to build up momentum in the South of France (where it is implanted in Nice, Marseille, Toulon and Montpellier), the development of activities at the Avignon site continues and will be further reinforced by the addition of a new sales manager by the end of the year.
