02-19-2008 Groupe Heppner names Laurent Cuiry
Groupe Heppner, the leading independent Transport and Logistics company in France, is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurent Cuiry to the position of Director of the Overseas Division.
This nomination comes at a time when the Groupe is accelerating its development strategy leading up to 2010, and turning toward new growth opportunities and new challenges to take up, notably in international markets. Laurent Cuiry’s professional background in international transport and his expertise in international markets and corporate management all constitute a valuable asset and strength for the Groupe that will, as a consequence, be able to reinforce its position at the global level. “The Overseas activity constitutes one of the historical growth vectors of Groupe Heppner, and with the profound changes in the flow of traffic around the world, it is important to be present and pick up the pace to accompany our clients as they grow. Groupe Heppner possesses a high degree of competence in ‘proximity’ and ‘service’ at the international level. It intends to intensify this via the development of its Overseas activity,” explains Gilles Moutel, General Manager of the Groupe. « We are targeting two growth objectives: double our volume of business over the next 4 years and multiply fourfold the revenue generated from the Overseas activity in order to more clearly position ourselves as a challenger to world operators in terms of quality of service. The Overseas market is currently growing at 15% per year and we have set an objective superior to this rate. Moreover, Overseas flows being in perpetual movement, Heppner will actively participate in the major changes on the international marketplace,» adds Laurent Cuiry. Laurent Cuiry joined Groupe Heppner in May 2007 and was responsible for coordinating Strategy and Performance. He was then confided the mission of Director of the Overseas Division, a position he has occupied since the beginning of 2008. Prior to that Laurent Cuiry started his career in the world of transport at Transports Grimaud where he acted as Director of Marketing from 1985 to 1990. Between 1990 and 1994, he worked for the group Securicor as Sales Director for the international express goupage branch. Between 1994 and 2007, he held a number of jobs, serving as Managing Director and assuming other various administrative positions in France and abroad for the Groupe Geospost, a company specialized in the transport of small parcels (part of la Poste). Laurent Cuiry has an MBA from the University of Dallas (1984).
